Getting Ready

Halloween is just so much fun. I remember my mom making us the coolest costumes as a kid. You really had to use your imagination and lots of creativity so you wouldn't end up in one of those aweful plastic store-bought costumes. Now it's almost the reverse. My boys WANT those plastic store bought costumes. Babes isn't quite there yet, so I may have this year to sneak in her 'mom-made' costume. Although it's going to take some convincing to get her to wear anything Her Highness may not be in the mood for. I'm sure it will take some bribery. Until she realizes how this Halloween business works! That's why I have included a 'Handy Dandy Candy' pocket on her skirt.

Anyway, I have a couple more tricks up my sleeve...!!

I wish I knew how to sew...
This year my kids will be Transformers. I hate Transformers, but they are so happy! I kind of miss the year when they were Tigger and Pooh, it was so sweet.

Oh I totally know what you mean!! My kids are already converted to the plastic, licensed store-bought costumes. Mom's homemade stuff just isn't cool enough...Maybe if I had more energy, I'd fight harder.
Your outfit is so cute and I am IN LOVE with the little flag trend - I've only ever made one though.

That costume looks sooo cute! I wish I could see her in it but I know you'll take lots of pictures. You are doing so good with you're sewing - I'm very impressed.

Love it, love it, love it! Love the banner...aren't they fun? I love our birthday one...I think there will a Christmas one in our midst.
W wants to be a dinosaur or raccoon...R just doesn't get it yet, not really, although he dresses as a ladybug and then roars like a tiger.
I think I'll make a cape or two and turn them into super heroes...tights and all!
