Dear 3,
I really had high hopes for us. 2 was quite tiresome and I was looking forward to something new with you.
Instead I am greatly disappointed. You are all whiny and unreasonable. Trying to get you to do ANYTHING is painful.
You don't want to do it, and then if you do start to do it, you don't want to stop. Example, you will whine and fight and not take your clothes off to get in the tub, but then you kick and screetch when it is time to get out of the tub. And the time in the tub is usually spent getting water from floor to ceiling.
Put my pants on? It BURNS!
Pick up my toys? I have no arms!
Dry my hair? I am a delicate flower and cannot be manhandled!!
Brush my teeth? I want them to rot and fall out of my head!
Share my 5billion toys? The top of the orange juice jug is the most precious thing in the world to me!! It is ALL mine!
Oh sure, there are certain moments I cherish. Sleeping 3 is as lovely as ever. Why isn't there more sleeping 3??
But mostly 3, you suck.
I have set my sights now on 4.
See you in 9 months!
xo
p.s. 3, you can call me if you ever want to be friends.

Baby Girl 11 Months
Yes, that's right. Countdown to #1 birthday. My little Babe is getting to be such a big girl.
Right now she is very good at emptying things. Closets, drawers, cupboards...anything she can reach into and pull stuff out of, she loves to do.
She has learned to clap, which is exciting and we all say 'Yaaaaayyyyy!'. And she has started doing some dancing. Some very good shoulder wiggles.
She has 8 teeth, 4 top, 4 bottom, and she is getting 2 MOLARS. Two on the top have started coming through already. And they are huge. Poor little gums.
The Babe is also starting to try standing. It's mostly just letting go of things, which doesn't always turn out well. Although she has figured out how to use that diaper padding for a softer landing.
She has also just figured out how to climb stairs. Which she does with much joy. There must be something exciting up there!
She has no clue about going down yet, and seems to think she can just sit up or lean back while on the stairs. Danger!!!!
She is such a sweet, good natured little girl. And I'm not even the only one who thinks so!
I am savoring ever moment of it before she turns into a crazy toddler.
It's the Wonderful Ones, right?!!!

38 Months
Sometimes a month passes and I realize I haven't really taken a lot of photos. Just not a whole lot going on. The boys are crazy. They make me crazy. The circle of life continues.
Here are a couple of great shots from Daddy.
This is The Chase. The Bug loves a good chase and will often grab something away from The Bee in order to instigate the inevitable pursuit. Sometimes it's all in good fun and other times The Bee will howl and throw himself to the ground in a heap of piercing protest. Either way, The Bug has a good time. His face really says it all.
And here is The Sadness. Both boys have a favorite 'blanky' which they love to death. They are sometimes referred to (by myself and Ch) as the 'manky blankies'. So when we can we throw them into the wash, hopefully when no one will notice. Of course this is always followed by some tragedy requiring consolation by said 'blanky'. And the tragedy is then escalated by the fact that Blanky is in the wash. The Bee could only be consoled by sitting in front of the washer, and keeping his eye on the horror.
The Sadness Part2. Another day, another wash, another sad boy watching the washing machine. This time a sheet and gloves have been added for comfort/dramatic effect.
The Bee is still carrying all his stuff around in a bucket. He broke his, so he is using The Babe's pink Easter bucket. Also referred to by myself and Ch as the bucket of crap. But we're keeping that to ourselves. It's so heavy he can barely carry it some days.
The Bug's love of Cars has expanded to include the character Chick Hicks. He has a little mini car, he calls him 'Cheeks'.
And on a slightly side note, my cousin and his wife had twin boys born on April 1st. We saw them on the weekend and they are tiny and sweet and I felt happy for them and even happier for me now that it's 3 years later! Ha.

Waiting For Spring
Because it's snowing again, and it's brown and not at all green yet...
This flower was growing next door to us at our old house. We lived in an older neighbourhood with lots of established trees and flowers. The woman living next door was the original owner of her house and her nephew and his wife lived downstairs. Raina (the wife of the nephew) and I used to take the bus to work downtown together.
Raina's first baby was born in that house shortly before they moved out and then a few months later the older woman died in the house.
The house we rented wasn't anything elaborate, but it was the first place that CH and I rented together, and the house where our twins first came home to.
A part of our history.

The Little Differences
If you don't know them you might think they're alike but my boys are so completely different. I've known that since the minute they were born.
It was so obvious this morning, it made me laugh...
We were all downstairs and the two of them were playing with their big legos. They like to build towers and then knock them over and laugh. Or scream. Depends on whether they agree on when it should be knocked down.
The Bug was happily busy building away.
The Bee would go over and add something or rearrange and then come over and tell me all about it. And then he'd tell me about what color the blocks were. And then he talked about building a robot. And then about the tower... back and forth and back and forth until they were done playing.
The Bug just kept building.
And that, in a nutshell, is them.

Triple Threat
So it's no secret that I've been trying to get a half decent photo of my kids together since The Babe was born. It's also no secret that it's almost impossible. As anyone with more than one kids knows. Then out of the blue the other day, we had a spontaneous photo shoot.
No one was dressed for it, or had their hair done or even their faces washed, but I was just thrilled to get all three of them in the same shot.
I wasn't using a flash either so they're not terribly sharp, but I am choosing to overlook that.
As usual, we end up with mostly bloopers, but I think this last one is kind of nice!

Eggstravaganza
Since Easter is often in April, I'm pretending it's not a real stretch to put up Easter photos now. Besides, what does April have left? Showers? Flowers?
I give you Easter. Part 1.
This was the first time we've done eggs and it was a huge success. The boys and I had fun. They even thought it was fun to eat them. Although The Bug peels off the white and eats it and then hands the yolk over to his brother. Who may or may not appreciate the gesture.
These faces were peering out at me every time I opened the fridge for a couple of days...
Mummy Bunny tried to keep the sugar to a minimum, but clearly Daddy Bunny had other thoughts.
The Bee gathered up all the 'peeps' and carried them around as well as ALL the plastic eggs in his basket.
We had a little egg hunt.
The little Bunny.
